Our Aim

Our aim is to support young people and their families with mild to moderate emotional difficulties.  It is our vision that young people in Andover enjoy good emotional wellbeing in these challenging times.

Our Team

Sarah Wilson is our Wellbeing Practitioner who comes from a Health Psychology background.  She has worked in primary and secondary psychological services and special eduction.  She is also a Higher Education teacher.

Ben Darkin is our Young Person Social Prescriber and has a background a youth work.  He has considerable experience working with a wide range of young people and their families.

What We Offer for 11-15 year olds 

Confidential Young Person Centred Support Sessions to help you connect with Community Groups and Resources;

1-1 Coaching to help you develop a coping skills toolbox

Face to Face & Telephone Appointments available.

We offer a stepped pathway of care.  Firstly young people will be offered a core appointment face to face or by telephone with our Social Prescriber, Ben Darkin.  Ben supports young people with and their families with mild support needs to connect to appropriate resources and groups in the community.  If a young person requires further assessment they can be referred to the Wellbeing Practitioner.

For young people with mild to moderate support needs we offer 6-8 coaching sessions of young person centred coaching which draws on evidence based therapeutical models such as cognitive behavioural therapy, Decider Skills and DBA-V (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for young people.

The aim of the coaching is to help young people to develop a coping skills toolbox.

Within our team we also have an Occupational Therapist with child and adolescent mental health experience who can support young people.

If a young person requires further support we can refer to CAMHS.
